5 Reasons Heather Morris (Brittany) Needs More Screen Time on Glee
Heather Morris infamously snagged the role of Brittany S. Pierce on Glee after she was hired to teach the "Single Ladies" dance to the McKinley High School football team way back in Season 1. You see, she was uniquely qualified for the job as a former backup dancer for Beyonce, but Ryan Murphy fell so in love with her on set that he wound up writing the role of dim-witted Cheerio just for her.
And we can't help but notice that she's been put on the back-burner since her run for student body prez earlier this season. Honestly? We’re kind of fed up. So here are our 5 reasons Heather needs more screentime on Glee:
Mike (Harry Shum Jr.) gets all the glory when it comes to dancing on Glee, but, as the Britney Spears laughing gas trip taught us, Brittany has the fiercest of moves, too. She's basically the only one who gives Mike a run for his money, so why not knock him down a few pegs? He's just so smug about his abs..
Sure, Santana (Naya Rivera) just came out (finally), but Brittany has a certain easygoing grace about her when she's chasing skirts and we kind of love it. Yeah, she likes boys, too, but whatever! It's entertaining to watch her fearlessly flex her bi-corn muscles.
Especially out of her Cheerios uniform. Just saying. She's the Blaine (Darren Criss) of the Lady New Directions.
Of course, we've experienced the delight of Brittany's character becoming more fleshed out over the past couple of seasons, which we love. But we miss those signature deadpan zingers (eg., "Did you know dolphins are just gay sharks..."). Plus, if we have to watch Lea Michele’s (Rachel) crippling sincerity dominate a scene one more time, we might throw up.
