Brad Pitt Scores a 2012 Oscar Nomination, Gets “Syrupy”
Nothing beats breakfast served up with a heaping side of Academy Award acclaim!
After the 2012 Oscar nominations were announced this morning, Brad Pitt got on the phone with Matt Lauer and Ann Curry on The Today Show to gush about his Best Actor and producer noms for Moneyball.
“We’re ecstatic over here. [...] It means so much considering this film was just dead on the rocks two years ago. It took a lot of people, a lot of artisans and craftsmen, to get it to the screen. It's a great honor, a real tribute to Billy Beane and Oakland A's organization. I'm really happy."
“I’m so happy for Jonah Hill, I can’t tell you,” he added, acknowledging his co-star’s Best Supporting Actor nomination.
But Moneyball isn’t Brad’s only movie up for awards: “I’m doubly happy that Tree of Life made it in there,” he gushed about the impressionistic film. “We thought we were all but forgotten. Just excited for Terry Malick.”
Notably missing from the list of nominees, however? His partner Angelina Jolie, who had hoped to gain recognition for her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey.
Still, that doesn’t appear to have fazed him — or derailed his celebratory breakfast plans. “It’s going to be pancakes for everyone this morning!” he announced to Matt and Ann.
Brad better be prepared to spend a few hours manning the stove: We bet the Jolie-Pitt household can dominate a lot of pancakes.
