Who Is Magic Cyclops? American Idol Season 11 Contestant Background Info

Yes, this dude is for real. The guy who closed out the Aspen auditions for Season 11 of American Idol is a well-known entertainer in Denver. While he goes by the name “Magic Cyclops” (or, used to; more on that later), his real name is Scott Fuller. Of note: His most famous performance is titled “Unicorns in Space.” Sounds about right for a guy who demanded producers play the theme music from Incredible Hulk as he made his angsty exit.

Randy Jackson almost walked out of Magic Cyclops’ audition, during which he sang Neil Diamond’s “Cracklin’ Rose” and Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville.” Fuller, 42 in earth years, has since retired his Magic Cyclops alter-ego, according to The Denver Post. Fuller came up with the idea for his zany British air guitar-strumming persona while driving in Denton, Texas. He says he "wanted to start some sort of weird Andy Kaufman-type art-rock deal that probably no one would understand but I thought was funny."

After the Aspen auditions, Magic Cyclops will, at the very least, live on in Idol infamy.
