Scent Test: What Do 50 People on the Street Think of Snooki’s Perfume?
When Snooki was making the rounds promoting her first perfume, Snooki by Nicole Polizzi, she described the scent as “lots of candy.” More specifically, “cotton candy.” So we decided to take Snooki’s fragrance to the streets, to get the opinions of real people.
Polling people in New York City’s Union Square, we got 50 lucky testers to give us their thoughts on the scent, which is a blend of fruit (lychee and kiwi) and ultra-sweet flowers like jasmine and quince. And the results are:
44% liked it 56% didn’t like it
But, perhaps the more interesting numbers rely on the sexes. Snooki said that her perfume would be a “boy magnet,” and she may have been proven right in our test:
58% of men liked it 46% of women liked it
As for the comments, the majority of people who didn’t like Snooki’s perfume complained that it was “too sweet,” “it smells like a lot of other things,” and one woman simply said: “I hate the girl, that Snooki person” before running away. Those that liked it called it “feminine,” “woman-like,” “like poppy flowers,” and one policeman told us, “Mmmm mmmm, Snooki, girl.”
