Who Will Land Pippa Middleton’s First TV Interview? Bidding War Tops $500,000
Pippa Middleton catapulted to international fame when she upstaged her own sister during the Royal Wedding at Westminster Abbey in June 2011. Now, not only is Pippa a verb, she’s also a hot commodity — so hot that Oprah, Matt Lauer, and Barbara Walters are rumored to be in a bidding war to land the first full-length television interview with her.
According to The Mirror, Pippa is high on the list of “dream guests” for TV’s talk show elite. Insiders at OWN tell The Mirror that Oprah is insisting her execs “pull out all the stops” to land the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister. Babs, however, took to The View to deny rumors she’s pushing ABC to pay six figures for the interview, but added she’d “love” to chat with Pip on-air.
Pippa, an event planner, got heat late last year for signing a $500,000 book deal to write a party-planning tome. This time around, Prince William’s sister-in-law plans to donate her fee to charity.
