Where Is Revenge Filmed? You Asked, We Answered!

Our favorite glitzy soap opera, Revenge, takes place in the Hamptons, but the the show isn’t filmed on location! The pilot episode of Revenge was filmed around Wilmington, North Carolina — mostly in the towns of Southport and Oak Island.

“Wilmington is beautiful,” Emily VanCamp says. “It lent itself beautifully to turn into the Hamptons.”

The interior scenes in the pilot were filmed in homes and businesses around North Carolina, including shots of The Stowaway, which were filmed in Southport’s local dive Fishy Fishy. You can check out pictures of the restaurant’s transformation here!

Interior shots of the Grayson mansion were filmed in Landfall, a community in Wilmington. The crew borrowed the actual interiors of a beautiful West Indies-style mansion, and even used the original home furnishings. Check out the real Grayson mansion here (recognize that furniture?), and remember that the exterior of the house isn’t the same as on the show!

Once Revenge was picked up for a full season, filming moved to sound-stages in L.A, which meant that the design department had to reproduce all the original interiors that were used in North Carolina. If you pay close attention, you can tell that some details are different — like the location of the staircase in Victoria’s living room.

As far as the exterior of the Grayson mansion goes, it’s completely CGI! Sob, there go our dreams of getting an invite to tea in Victoria’s parlor.
