For the past two months Ryan has been training at the Muay Thai Academy of America in North Hollywood, sweating under the tutelage of the school's owner, Kiu Puk. Puk is helping Ryan prepare for his role in the upcoming movie Only God Forgives, about a Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster who go head-to-head in a Thai-boxing match.
Puk sings the actor's praises in an interview with Life & Style: "Ryan's disciplined and enthusiastic, and above all, he loves his training. [...] Some of the big stars come in here for two hours and try to conduct business on their cellphone while they're here, but not Ryan. He's polite, always listens to what I'm saying and follows all instructions."
According to Puk, Ryan endures four two-hour sessions each week, and he's been sticking to a strict diet of fish, green vegetables, and rice.
It's official: Eva Mendes is the luckiest leading lady in Hollywood.
