Season 3 Scoop: Glee’s Casting a Handsome, Successful… Giant?
Here’s a fun bit of casting news for you Gleeks who like to be in the know on all the details!
TVLine has scoop that Glee is currently casting the upcoming role of a 30-year-old dude named Stephen. He’s described as “handsome and successful” and his portrayer must meet one very specific criteria: “The guy needs to be at least six feet tall.”
And show-boaters need not apply, because “the role comes with zero dialogue.” Silent as he may be, Stephen will still manage to figure into “an important moment in the script.”
With news that Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is in the market for a baby in next week’s Season 3, Episode 12: “The Spanish Teacher,” the most obvious choice here might be that Stephen will be a prospective baby-daddy for the ever-particular Ms. Sylvester. It’d make sense that she’d want some TALL genes in the mix (lady’s got length!), and we’ve no doubt she’d demand they be a looker. But is that too obvious? And weren’t we just teased that Ricky Martin would be connected to Sue’s soon-to-be spawn?
Could the height element connect somehow to McKinley’s resident giant-like Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith)? Since the role is silent, perhaps we are soon to be seeing a photograph of Finn’s late father. Or could a living Hudson family member be making the trip to Lima?
Then again, with news that we’ll soon be meeting Blaine’s (Darren Criss) older bro, could another Anderson family member be thrown in the mix?
