Happy Birthday, Darren Criss! Here Are 5 Reasons We Love You
Today, February 5, 2012, Glee’s one and only Darren Criss (Blaine) turns 25 years old. As much as we loved Glee when it first started, Darren is one of our favorite additions to the cast. Now, it seems pretty hard to imagine the show without him! In honor of Darren’s big day, we put together our list of the top 5 reasons we think he's totally awesome.
1. He’s a bona fide Broadway star.
Of course we want Darren to stay on Glee as long as possible — but we’re well aware that he’ll have a long career even after his time on the show is over! Darren just finished a quick January run on Broadway as J. Pierrepont Finch in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and his three weeks alone brought in over $4 million. Broadway wants him back, as soon as he’s available, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing places he’ll go from here!
When new Glee guy Grant Gustin (Sebastian) was feeling a bit lost during his first day on set, Darren was quick to swoop in and help explain everything Grant needed to know. Fellow Warbler Titus Makin, Jr. is quick to point out how “sweet and humble” Darren has stayed throughout his rise to fame. No inflated egos here!
4. Even with that silly eye patch, he’s still supermegafoxyawesomehot.
Not that we want Blaine to lose his sight permanently or anything. Absolutely not! We’re just saying... even if he did, most of you agree that when he's sporting an eye patch, Blaine still looks insanely attractive. And that’s no small feat.
It’s hard not to root for Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine. Their relationship is sweet, honest, sincere, and all-around charming. They’ve both been through a lot in life, but seeing them so happy together... We’re Team Klaine all the way!
