We already know Monday’s all-new Castle — Season 4, Episode 14: “The Blue Butterfly" — is a noir-style episode set in the 1940s, where Castle imagines himself as slick private detective and Beckett as a bombshell gangster’s moll, in order to solve a present-day case.
What we didn’t know was how unbelievably hot that scenario could be. (OK, that’s a lie. We had an inkling.)
In this new sneak peek, Rick Castle (or should we call him Detective Castle?) and Kate Becket — decked in their finest noir garb — contemplate running away together. Insert swoon here!
“You gotta get me away Joe, away from Dempsey, away from all of it," Beckett says, donning a massive diamond necklace worth enough cash to keep the two afloat for life.
"And go where? We can blow this town, sure, only how far are we going to get when we're both flat broke?" Castle responds.
"We're not broke, Joe. We've got all the money we need around my neck. All we gotta do is take it away with us," Beckett suggests.
Is it wrong to say we hope Castle stays stuck in the '40s forever?
Castle's noir episode, "The Blue Butterfly," airs Monday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
