Jennifer Lopez Hires Controversial Director for New “Urban Adventure”-Themed Music Video
Pop icon and American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has tapped a controversial blockbuster director to helm her next music video. Brett Ratner stepped down as producer for the 2012 Oscars telecast after making a homophobic remark during a press junket for his latest film, Tower Heist. New York Daily Newsreports Jennifer Lopez has hired Brett to film the music video for her second single, “Follow the Leader,” off of her latest album Love.
The video will reportedly feature J.Lo as the protagonist in an “outdoor urban adventure game,” basically Jenny from the Block meets Lara Croft. Jennifer is schedule to shoot the video the weekend of March 2, 2012. No word yet on whether boyfriend Casper Smart, who performs in J.Lo’s live concerts, will costar in the video.
According to the New York Daily News, American Idol will premiere the video in late March or early April.
