So You Think You Can Dance

SYTYCD’s Nigel Lythgoe to Host Career Transitions Workshop for Dancer’s National Outreach Project

Today, thousands of eager dancers are flocking to Salt Lake City, UT, to audition for Season 9 of So You Think You Can Dance. In addition to scoping out SLC’s talent, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe will also take time to front the Career Transitions for Dancers' National Outreach Project while in the city.

Nigel is no stranger to CTFD. He’s a big supporter of the organization and its cause. "Career Transition For Dancers is the safety net for all dancers planning for or facing the realities of transitioning into a new, rewarding second career when dancing is no longer an option," he explains. "Their programs and services...enable dancers to define their career possibilities and develop skills necessary to excel in a variety of disciplines."

On Saturday February 25th, Nigel will join the organization in hosting "It’s All Plan A: The Whole Artist Approach," a free workshop designed to "examine the key components of the career change process." The class will run from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at SLC’s Capital Theater and all ages and genres of dancers are encouraged to attend, from students, to teachers, to current and former professional dancers, pre-professional dancers, and choreographers.

CTFD knows dancers can’t leap and bound forever, which is why the organization makes a point of doing these workshops around the country. For more information or to RSVP to "It’s All Plan A," click here.
