Is Cory Monteith and Lea Michele’s Relationship Just a PR Stunt?
Glee's wundercouple, Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele) overcame the odds of high school social hierarchy to get together, fall in love, get engaged, and now, make it all the way to the chapel city hall.
But, this Valentine's Day, it was actors Cory and Lea who were spotted on what looked an awful lot like a romantic dinner date. Sources have been spotting them cozying up together all over town (although no kissing pics yet), so is it possible that Finchel got together in real life?

Considering they've been playing a will-they-or-won't-they couple on-screen for three seasons, it's plausible that Lea and Cory simply have a naturally touchy-feely rapport. They mack on screen all the time, so snuggling up platonically off-set might hold very little sexual tension for them. And how many of us are guilty of going out on a just-for-funsies date with a really good guy friend there might be a hint of a chance with?
Maybe it was a real date. Maybe it was just a fun way to test the waters. Still, we can’t help but wonder if the whole thing was actually a big PR stunt to drum up attention for the big Hudson-Berry wedding. (Well, the big Hudson-Berry wedding that never actually was.)
What better way to ruffle Finchel feathers (and spike sinking ratings) than to stage a little fantasy date for the actors? Fans have been clamoring for Lea and Cory to get together in real life practically since the show started airing. (They even have their own mashup name: Monchele.)
So why not get Glee’s power couple together in real life? It can’t be a new idea for their PR team. And the fact that their relationship was first reported on February 21: the very morning of Glee’s big midseason finale? Sounds a bit suspicious to us.
But what do you think? Are Cory and Lea really just milking the Finchel cash cow — or have they truly fallen for each other off-screen?
