Castle Review: What Did You Think of Season 4, Episode 17: “Once Upon a Crime”?
Last night's episode of Castle was like the whacked-out Disney version of I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Although we've heard the story before — a group of high schoolers make a pact to never reveal the truth about what happened that fateful night — Castle writers manage to give "Once Upon a Crime" a wicked new twist.
Charlotte, the sole survivor, turns out to be our Brothers Grimm copycat. Thanks to Castle and his extensive knowledge of bows, we come to learn that not only did Charlotte accidentally kill her friend Owen back in 2005, but she also murders Amy and Christina before staging an elaborate attack on herself.
OK, so it's a bit far-fetched, but at least the story has a happy ending. And we're not just talking about psycho Sleeping Beauty getting thrown into the dungeon — er, jail. We're referring, of course, to the final scene when the writer and his fair muse hold hands.
Cute as it was, we can't start planning Castle and Beckett's fairy-tale wedding just yet. They may have defeated the Big Bad Wolf, but they have yet to face the biggest monster of them all — their secrets.
