The Bachelorette

Emily Maynard Debuts As The Bachelorette With Ali Fedotowsky and Ashley Hebert

The overnight dates episode of The Bachelor featured a preview of Emily Maynard's turn as The Bachelorette. Here's a blow-by-blow of what they shared with us:

We watch future Season 8 Bachelorette Emily Maynard hanging out with her daughter Ricki in Charlotte, N.C. Being a single mom, she gets really lonely. Ricki goes to bed at 7:30 and after that it’s just her and it sinks in that she’s by herself. She wants to find a husband so bad. She’s tired of getting her hopes up and having it not work out. She flies to L.A. and hangs out with past Bachelorettes Ali Fedotowsky and Ashley Hebert. (No Jillian Harris? DeAnna Pappas? Trista Sutter? Where is Meredith Phillips nowadays?)

Ali and Ashley go shopping with Emily and she tries on cute stuff. Emily is worried that she won’t be a good Bachelorette. Ashley says the first night is all about physical attraction; JP Rosenbaum wasn’t one of the guys she was really drawn to right away (why the heck not?!) but he turned out to be the best for her. They give Em her first date card: It’s a trip to see — FREE PLUG ALERT — Titanic in 3D. Ali thinks maybe Emily will meet her Jack. She already did, since her ex-fiance passed away just like Jack (although not like Jack). Ashley compares herself and JP to Jack and Rose. Stop ignoring that Jack dies in the end and their relationship is even shorter than a Bachelor romance!

Emily says she knows what love is supposed to be like and she won’t settle for anything less.

There, it's like you SAW it!
