The Voice NBC: Should the Judges Have Turned Around for Cameron Novack on February 27, 2012?

Contestants have their share of nerves, but occasionally we encounter a performer who isn’t scared at all.

The Voice Season 2 contestant Cameron Novack, or “Novackaine” as he refers to himself, called himself a triple threat (only because that was the highest threat level available).

During the Blind Auditions Round 5 on Feb. 27, 2012, Cameron freestyle-rapped and even belted out some opera on cue. When it came time for him to take the stage, he did so with gusto and confidence.

Belting out Alanis Morissette’s power ballad “You Oughta Know,” Cameron sang with the strength of someone who knows he’s going to see a red chair turn.

But no chair ever did.

The judges clearly thought they’d made a mistake when Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green called out to the show’s producers asking if they could change the rules so Cee Lo could add Cameron to his team. But sticking with the show’s tradition, Cameron went home empty-handed.

Was he robbed?
