Ellen Pompeo: Kissing Patrick Dempsey & Other Co-Stars Is ”Awkward” and ”Gross” (VIDEO)
Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) was on Chelsea Lately last night (February 28), and she discussed everything from the latest bat mitzvah trends to charging drunk people $30 for vodka tonics when she was a bartender.
Ellen started by opening up about her “rough” childhood growing up in Boston. “Everybody I know has been to prison, including my husband.” Wait, what’s that now? Ellen explains that she and husband Chris Ivery grew up in adjacent neighborhoods, and that when they first got together, “tabloids thought they were breaking this big news story about my bad, terrible husband.” She says, “I’ve known him since I was 15.”
Then she told Chelsea that she hears the new trend is for kids to ask their parents if they can invite “black kids to their bat mitzvahs to liven it up a little.” Ellen covers her tracks a bit by saying she heard it from someone else, she can’t remember who, etc.
As for the early days of Grey’s Anatomy when Meredith was pretty promiscuous, Ellen says that being forced to kiss all those strangers was “gross.” But not so with Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd), which just gets “awkward,” because “we are literally like brother and sister.”
Watch the interview to see Ellen go a little wild, not to mention address those Katherine Heigl rumors!
