Target Pulls Offensive Whitney Houston Greeting Card

During the weeks following Whitney Houston’s untimely death, there has been no shortage of controversy.

From leaked photos of Whitney’s casket, to an inexcusably repulsive real-estate listing for a home that was once the backdrop for Bobby Brown's infamous reality show, Being Bobby Brown, Whitney’s passing has been marred by unflattering reports about her life and death.

Now, TMZ is reporting that mega-retailer Target has come under fire for selling an offensive greeting card, one that makes light of Whitney’s tempestuous relationship with ex-husband Bobby Brown.

The card — sold prior to and following Whitney’s passing — reads, “Next time you think of dating the bad boy; consider Whitney Houston.”

The card in question concludes with the line, “That’s all I’m going to say.”

To their credit, Target has acknowledged the card's distasteful nature and is already in the process of pulling it from store shelves.

“The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores,” a rep for the retailer said.

Unfortunately, it seems the damage has already been done.
