16 and Pregnant Season 4 Girls Were Chosen Because They Wouldn’t Make MTV Look Bad
As much as fans of the 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom franchises are riveted by the on- and off-screen drama caused by Amber Portwood and Jenelle Evans (the arrests, the fights, etc), MTV reportedly wants to steer away from that image in the future.
The site's editor, Ashley Majeski, tells the New York Post that the new cast is more "All-American," with several girls coming from affluent families.
And she says that two girls who were filmed didn't make it onto the show because one got pregnant for a second time and the other "falsely represented herself to MTV."
"I think in the past, they were so concerned with getting drama that they chose a lot of girls that were complete train wrecks," Majeski says.
Instead, we can expect the Season 4 cast to be filled with cheerleaders and a least one cage-fighter. And since the new Teen Mom 3 will take girls from Season 4, it seems we can expect less legal drama then, too.
