You Tell Us: Are Pauly D and Vinny Mean to Girls on Jersey Shore?
Everyone knows how adorable and hilarious Vinny and Pauly D are together on Jersey Shore. Their bromance has reached new heights during Season 5. But is their behavior towards women pretty much the opposite of adorable?
In earlier seasons, when MVP (Mike, Vinny, and Pauly) first came up with the term “grenades,” everyone loved it. We all knew what they were talking about, and it was fun to watch them shyly figure out ways to alert each other of grenades in their midst.
But recently, especially this season, we’ve noticed that Vinny and Pauly D have been especially harsh on girls they find unattractive. In last night’s episode (Season 5, Episode 9: “The Truth Will Set You Free”), Vinny lamented the lack of hot girls at Karma within earshot of every girl around him, and we watched Pauly look obviously annoyed by girls talking to him who weren’t up to snuff.
Earlier this season, we saw Vinny send a “grenade” towards Pauly when they were playing pool in the middle of the day. Pauly starts smiling from ear to ear, looking at the camera, and just bolts away from the girl mid-conversation. Later they laugh about using the girl to “get back” at each other.
Finally, what do you think of Pauly’s repeated insistence that, after he smushes a girl, no matter how late it is or how drunk they are, he kicks them out of the house to wait for a cab on the curb, sometimes missing clothing or carrying their shoes? He laughs throughout the whole process.
We’re wondering if you think Vinny and Pauly’s behavior to girls is starting to seem mean and rude, or if you still think their game is funny.
