The Walking Dead’s Controversial Kill: What Did You Think of the Plot Twist?
On last night’s The Walking Dead (Season 2, Episode 11: “Judge, Jury, Executioner”), audiences finally had a reason to shed some tears and remember just how much we care about the original gang of apocalyptic misfits. A main character died — and it wasn’t pretty.
Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t seen the March 4 episode of The Walking Dead, there are spoilers ahead! For more on Wetpaint Entertainment's philosophy on spoilers, click here.
The show’s “moral compass” (as Executive Producer Robert Kirkman put it), Dale Horvath (Jeffrey DeMunn) had his insides torn apart by a walker who came closer to the farm than any zombie had before. Most likely beckoned by newly cocky Carl (Chandler Riggs), the zombie attacked Dale, pinning him to the ground. And, just when we thought Horvath was about to be bitten, the zombie clawed into Dale’s stomach, spilling his guts, intestines, and who knows what other organs across his chest.
We were simultaneously riveted by the awesome attack (blood, guts, and all) and filled with sadness, as the original gang watched their friend die a slow and painful death.
What did you think of the shocker? Were you as saddened as we were, or are you happy to see the self-righteous, sometimes-annoying Dale go? Tell us in our poll below!
