Should Pretty Little Liars End After Season 4? You Tell Us
A few days ago, Teen Vogue released an interview with Ashley Benson (Hanna) where the Pretty Little Liars star dished that she had heard rumors that "the producers are talking about doing four seasons [of PLL] and then wrapping it up with a feature film."
Before you have a heart attack, showrunner Marlene King has since said "there is no definitive end to PLL the TV show."
However, this got us thinking: Would Pretty Little Liars ending after four seasons — or some other set timeline — really be a bad thing?
Don't get us wrong, we love the show, and part of us wants it to go on forever and ever. On the other hand, there is value in having a set finish date that the writers can plan for and write towards — for example, most Lost fans agree that the show, which started lagging in the third season, benefited when the Powers That Be decided they were doing exactly six seasons and the writers started writing with a plan in mind.
Plus, the longer a show goes on, the more likely it is to start getting boring or repetitive. Sometimes it's nice for a show to end after only a few seasons if it ends strongly.
So, what do you think? Would you rather the Pretty Little Liars producers decide on a set number of seasons, or should they keep going for as long as the ratings allow?
