Check Out Cory Monteith’s New Indie Flick Sisters and Brothers! (VIDEOS)
Glee's very own Cory Monteith (Finn) is hitting the silver screen — well, in Canada, anyway — in a quirky comedy entitled Sisters and Brothers. The 2011 indie film follows four pairs of siblings through various and sundry familial dramas, but Cory plays a Hollywood heartthrob named Justin Montegan.
Really... a famous young celeb? We’re guessing Cory didn’t have to work too hard get in tune with the role. Bonus: his brother Rory is played by none other than Cory’s real-life pal (and fellow Canadian) Dustin Milligan of 90210!
In the film, Rory returns to Los Angeles after a long trip to Africa spent working for a new charity he founded — particularly with hopes to get out of the Cali scene. Upon meeting up with his famous brother, Rory quickly he learns what an icon Justin has become. Now he’s forced to adjust to life with mobs of screaming fans chasing after him.
Old sibling tensions arise when Rory discovers going to do charity work in Africa has no longer left him the golden boy in the family. Apparently, his wild child brother has now stepped up to support the fam off his movie career. Ouch. So much for educating hungry orphans.
The flick was an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival last summer, but just got a Canadian theatrical release date! So, for all you Canuck Cory Monteith fans, keep an eye out for Sisters and Brothers opening near you on March 23rd (you know, after you go catch The Hunger Games at midnight. It's cool, we know you bought your tickets three weeks ago. We aren't judging).
In any case, major congrats to Cory on the film! And, for the record, Frankenteen does looks pretty sexy in the movie, if we do say so ourselves.
