Is Molly Quinn Getting Her Own Veronica Mars-Inspired Spin-Off?
Castle cutie Molly Quinn raised some eyebrows last Friday at PaleyFest 2012 when she told TV Line that her character Alexis, a 17-year-old crimesolver in the making, might be jumping ship. But is she jumping the gun?
According to Molly, there have been "discussions" about an Alexis-centric, Veronica Mars-spin-off that would follow “a strong group of friends that are quirky and have different strengths that bring them together.”
We're on board with the idea (as long as Alexis doesn't leave Castle for good, of course), but what does show creator Andrew Marlowe have to say about it?
TV Line caught up with him later in the evening and he put his foot down, saying there are no plans for an Alexis Castle spin-off. However, he did confirm that Rick's mini-me will be facing a major crossroads in the coming episodes, with respect to the college search.
“Where she decides to go [to college] is something we’ll be dealing with by the end of the season, and how close and how far [away she will be],” Marlowe said.
“Castle’s really struggling with the fact that his little girl is not going to be in his life anymore, and that’s going to figure in as we come to a conclusion this year.”
