Pretty Little Liars Speculation: Who Are the Older Woman & Little Boy in the ”Doll Hospital”?
Pretty Little Liars Season 2 has brought tons of creepy, mysterious, and dangerous surprises. But we would argue that the absolute weirdest aspect of the “A” mystery since the season started has been those freaky dolls.
But who is the unprecedented “little boy that knows more than he leads onto,” and the older woman we see the girls talking to in these sneak peek photos?
Alison’s Relatives. We really don’t know very much about Ali’s extended family. We know about Jason (Drew Van Acker), her brother, who she shared a mother with. Her mother has made a couple of appearances, though nothing suspicious has come up. Could the older woman be Ali’s grandmother? If so, on which side? We know that Ali has one grandmother living in North Carolina, so this would have to be her other grandma. And the little boy could theoretically be a cousin, or even a half-brother Ali was just finding out about.
Locals Who Knew/Know Ali. If Ali used to hang out around the doll hospital, or if her investigation into “A”’s identity led her to this street, it’s likely that the older woman and the young boy got to know her. What part of her personality did she show to these two? The vulnerable, fragile side that Duncan knew (as Vivian), or the flirty, manipulative side the Little Liars knew (as Ali)?
Locals Who Know “A.” The only reason the girls find this “doll hospital” in the first place is because Jonah (the guy who wanted money from Ali to give her information on where her “A” texts were coming from) gave the Little Liars the address. If he sourced “A”’s phone to this old doll workshop, and the older woman and little boy are inside, does that mean they’re connected to “A” directly?
Melissa’s Cohorts Bear with us. The first location where “A” texts could have come from was the abandoned law firm, where Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) used to work as an intern. Back in Season 2, Episode 15: “A Hot Piece of A,” we discovered a photo of the creepy dolls was on “A”’s phone. Spencer (Troian Bellisario) realizes that the photo of the dolls was taken in the Hastings’ lake house. If Melissa is “A,” then it would make sense that “A”’s phone would be traced back to the place where Melissa first found the dolls. The “hospital” might refer to the fact that you can customize each doll to say anything you want. A surgical alteration of sorts.
