“My family has a crazy history,” she told the mag, “Probably the craziest I’ve heard of.” That’s probably why when, at a young age, Leighton was thrown into the world of acting, she never looked back. “I worked a lot, even though I was just a kid,” she said of her early days doing commercials for brands like Bloomingdale’s and Limited Too. “It seemed normal to me.”
And though her ambition was fully in place, those hard-knocks early on made her ever-so-much more aware of priorities and importance – which Leighton says meant she couldn’t always relate to the kid-driven material she was being given. “I couldn’t relate to kid stuff. ‘Jimmy doesn’t like me!’ Who cares?” she explained. “I was worried we didn’t have gas money or food. Those were my concerns.”Guess she got over that to play Ms. Waldorf and her oft-petty priorities, eh?
Leighton's also not one for fleeting relationships. "I'm not sure I ever want to get married," the 25-year-old actress confesses. "The only time a relationship is good is when you really love them. I don't want to hang out with some guy I just like."
