Is Real Housewives of Dallas Happening Despite Andy Cohen’s Denial?
Don’t dust off your cowboy boots just yet, Housewives fans! Websites the Internet over may be claiming Bravo has launched a Housewives franchise in Texas, but Andy Cohen is denying rumors that the network has locked down a cast for a Real Housewives of Dallas.
On March 14, RealityTea reported Bravo had secured a line-up of Longhorn ladies to join the show. Their list of cast members included Rhonda Aikman — Troy Aikman’s ex — and former Playboy model Deziree Ramirez. An insider reportedly told the website the show was in pre-production, adding that filming is slated to start in August, with the show hitting small screens in early 2013.
Naturally, when Housewives aficionados caught wind of the announcement, they turned to none other than Bravo poster boy Andy Cohen for confirmation. “Is the Real Housewives of Dallas really happening?” Zap2It’s Jen Harper tweeted at Bravo’s executive VP of original programming Thursday morning. “No,” Cohen replied bluntly.
We don’t blame him for the curt response: Andy previously said Bravo was done adding franchises. But maybe Cohen is just being coy. Blog Real Housewives of Gossip has tweets from Deziree Ramirez indicating she’s pretty convinced she’s about to be Housewife. “RHWD -;),” she tweeted on March 7, followed by, “meeting with my new friends, we’re all wives, well except me and another ;).” That’s a lot of wink-y faces for someone with nothing to hide.
