Phillip Phillips Wants to Stay on American Idol 2012 Despite Painful Condition

If Phillip Phillips seemed a little shaky on this week’s American Idol, it’s probably because his medical issues are far from over. According to what his father told TMZ, the Southern singer is determined to stay in the competition despite the painful stent he recently had surgically implanted to help alleviate the problems from his kidney stones.

On March 8, Phillip sought medical treatment for the condition, but he still managed to show up for the results show that night. Since October, Phillip has undergone surgery five times to remove kidney stones. Hopefully he can avoid those in the future, but considering how much discomfort the stent may cause, he definitely gets our sympathy vote!
