The event — which was featured in RHoBH Season 1, Episode 4 — was held at the Houdini mansion in Laurel Canyon, and according to Dana, had “amazing decor with floating teapots that had flowers coming out of them” as well as “ridiculous tea cake and cupcakes with amazing china.” Yes, china. For a 4-year-old.
However, Dana doesn’t think the party was excessive. “If [Taylor] wants that kind of party, I feel like she has every right to do it,” says the bubbly blonde.
According to Dana, Taylor’s desire for such a party may have come from her “wishing someone would’ve done that for her at some point.” To illustrate her point, Dana compared Kennedy’s soiree to the Hewlett-Packard founder owning one of the biggest yachts in the world. “Is that excessive? Yes, but if you hear him talk about it he was raised poor and he wasn't allowed to have any toys... I think you need to see where a person is coming from to determine if a 4-year-old's $60,000 birthday party is over-the-top,” she says.
Dana points out that since Kennedy’s father, Russell, committed suicide a little over a year after the party, she’s actually “grateful” Taylor pulled out all the stops for her little girl. It’s hard to put a price on family memories.
