Why Didn’t The Voice Air All of Ashley De La Rosa’s Blind Audition? Ashley Tells All!
Getting invested in certain contestants on The Voice Season 2 can be challenging when we barely get to see their blind auditions.
Team Christina’s Ashley De La Rosa is one of those contestants. Her blind audition was featured in a fast-paced montage and her actual audition received less than 15 seconds of airtime. But how was she supposed to compete with “no air”?
Apparently, it didn’t affect her staying power in the competition too much, because she defeated fan favorite Jonathas in Monday night’s third battle round.
In a recent conference call, Ashley said she knew the show’s producers were going to cut her audition short.
“The producers called, and they told me,” she said. “It was just mostly for time reasons. They were trying to fit people in and certain people’s just got cut shorter.”
Though Ashley originally felt like the shorter blind audition gave her a disadvantage going into the battle rounds, it wasn’t all bad.
“I also kind of thought that it was a good thing because when I came out for the battle rounds it was sort of a surprise,” she said. “Either way I’m here now so it probably wasn’t that bad of a choice by them.”
