Mad Men’s Vincent Kartheiser Explains When Men “Start Saying ‘No’ to Sex” (VIDEO)

One of Mad Men’s most polarizing characters is Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser). Don (Jon Hamm) can’t stand him, Bert (Roger Morse) actually likes him, and Roger (John Slattery) just laughs at him.

In an interview with, Vincent points out a key difference between Pete and Roger: “[Pete] doesn't have what Roger Sterling has. He doesn't have charm, wit. People don't really like him, because of the way he acts.” Whereas everyone puts up with Roger because he can be a dozen drinks to the wind and still out-charm a guy like Don.

Vincent goes on to describe how Pete has grown as a man since Season 1 (so far he’s aged from 26 to 31 on the show), and when exactly a guy “starts saying no to sex.” Hint, it’s somewhere in that age bracket!

Mad Men Season 5 premieres on Sunday, March 25 at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC.
