Vicki Gunvalson Fears a Younger Woman Will Take Her Place on Real Housewives of Orange County
As the only remaining member of the original cast, it’s hard to deny Real Housewives of Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson’s appeal. Whether she’s in businesswoman mode or wide-eyed and screaming, Vicki’s always fun to watch. Still, with the other Bravo franchises firing ladies left and right, it’s no wonder the OC vet is shaking in her stilettos.
In a new interview with The Huffington Post, the blonde Housewife expressed her fears that she too will lose her job — to some younger SoCal lady. According to Vicki, Bravo likes replacing old housewives with younger models. For example, Vicki points out she was one of the youngest cast members when she first joined the show in 2006, and now — with a totally new cast — she’s one of the oldest. “They are bringing in the girls 16 years younger. Hello!” says Vicki.
The median age of the Housewives isn’t the only thing that has changed since Season 1. Bringing more youthful ladies on board has only equaled more fighting on the show — and higher ratings.
“We weren’t fighting [at the beginning of the franchise]; we were just talking about our lives, raising kids," Vicki says, adding that the ladies ages probably has something to do with the catfights.
We don’t know about that one, Vicki. Your 49-year-old self sure seems to have no problem finding its way into the center of the drama!
