Mad Men Season 5 Spoilers: What Happens to Harry Crane?
The Mad Men Season 5 premiere is just days away (Sunday, March 25 for those out of the loop), and our excitement for the show is at an all-time high. After a year and half without it, it will be good to return to the luxurious, messed up Mad Men world.
One of the characters we've missed the most is media buyer Harry Crane (Rich Sommer), whose rise at work and parallel moral decent has made for a fascinating arc. Recently, Rich talked to EW about what we can expect to see from Harry in Season 5.

"A lot of why Harry is the way he is has to do with his personal life," Rich explained, and he promised we'll see more of how that's true in Season 5. "I think almost everything that these characters do...is somehow driven by their work. Even their personal lives are clearly affected by it. You’ll definitely see that’s true for Harry as well."
Rich hinted that Harry will have a hard time grappling with his increased success in the office. "He’s still the nice guy, but...he’s been given power where before he had zero. I think one of the true measures of someone is how they deal with that sort of situation.”
As denizens of the 21st century, we all know that TV ends up becoming a key market for ad agencies, so we can only imagine that Harry's importance will continue to grow exponentially. Indeed, Rich even admits that it's "possible" Harry will move on to "bigger and better things" outside of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce (though if it means Harry leaving the show, we hope that doesn't happen any time soon).
Either way, we can definitely expect to see Harry change, and not just emotionally. "If you physically look at Harry, the difference between season 4 and season 5 costume-wise, prop-wise, was a pretty hard left."
