Bones’s Michaela Conlin (Angela) laughs, “There’s the birth, there’s a baby, there’s some serial killers, there’s a day care center where babies interact and maybe future crime fighters are born.”
According to Michaela, there aren’t “too many arcs this season other than the baby.” Still, fans can expect to see the free-spirited Ange — who is now married and raising a son with Dr. Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne) — doing a lot more than just doling out parenting advice.
“We’re talking about some issues coming up for Angela, in terms of her feeling some distance from who she used to be, this sort of free, single person, and [from] her art, too. So it’s not all roses. I think, like real life, we’re managing to show some other sides of it,” Michaela says.
As Angela struggles with her identity, the arrival of a new man in her life reminds her of the more carefree life she’s left behind. “This episode we’re shooting now, there’s sort of a Banksy-style artist that comes into Angela’s life, and that’s been really fun to shoot.”
However, that doesn’t mean Hodgins is out of the picture! In fact, Michaela had some pretty interesting scop about an upcoming scene. “I think Bones always sort of walks the line of it being a comedy and being really moving. T.J. and I were shooting a scene last night that was really funny and crazy—there’s some peanut butter involved,” she teased. Sounds... sticky?
As for another sort of sticky situation, Michaela said she’s accepted Bones’s controversial move to Monday nights. “We have such a great group of fans—I hope they’re okay with it.
