The Vampire Diaries

Vampire Diaries Synopsis for Season 3, Episode 19, “Heart of Darkness”: A Mystic Falls Resident Returns

The fact that Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 19, “Heart of Darkness” isn’t airing until April 19 is especially distressing because we feel like we haven’t seen a certain hybrid in ages. Luckily, Tyler (Michael Trevino) is due to come back — and Caroline (Candice Accola) couldn’t be happier. Aw. Too bad Tyler’s suspicious that another hybrid has been sniffing around his boo. Maybe he finds Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) pony picture?

We’ll get to see another missing Mystic Fallser, as well: Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) take yet another road trip, this time to Denver. Evidently they want him use his “special abilities” (his MiFi capabilities?) to get the details on some of the earliest vampire bloodlines. Their Ouija board games (or whatever they’re planning to do) will have to wait awhile, because JerBer has made some undesirable acquaintances.

Back at home, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus are looking for a missing weapon and they aren’t exactly cautious about how they go about searching. Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Matt (Zach Roerig) are thrown together again for another dance. He’s trying to keep her preoccupied with all the details of the ‘20s decade dance. Hey, if anyone would know how to keep it historically accurate, it’s Beks.

“THE VAMPIRE DIARIES” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET)
“Heart of Darkness” (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

TYLER RETURNS TO MYSTIC FALLS — Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) set off together to make sure Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is safe in Denver, and to see if his special abilities can help reveal the information they need about ancient vampire bloodlines. It doesn’t take them long to learn that Jeremy has been hanging with the wrong people. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) both go to brutal extremes in their search for the missing weapon. Caroline (Candice Accola) is thrilled when Tyler (Michael Trevino) returns to town, but Tyler soon suspects that something has been going on between Caroline and Klaus. Matt (Zach Roerig) has his hands full trying to keep Rebecca (Claire Holt) busy organizing the school’s upcoming 1920s Decade Dance. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Brian Young and Evan Bleiweiss (#319).
