Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With the Stars Season 14, Week 3: The Best and Worst Dances (VIDEOS)

Dancing With the Stars Season 14, Week 3 was full of emotions — for the contestants, the judges (yes, you, Carrie Ann Inaba!), and for the viewers at home. From losing a best friend or father to disease, to childhoods spent in poverty, each of the stars had meaningful stories to tell. But judging on the dancing alone, who had the best and worst dances of Personal Story Week?

The Good

Maria Menounos & Derek Hough — Rumba to “Material Girl” by Madonna. Maria and Derek had the first Rumba of the night, and it became an impossible act to follow. These two simply looked hot together, and Maria was really feeding off of Derek’s passion. And yes, we definitely spotted Derek engulfing Maria’s chin with his mouth, and Maria giving Derek a little peck mid-dip. Sexy!

Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas — Slow Waltz to "To Where You Are" by Josh Groban. Can Katherine do no wrong? The waltz was gorgeous, Katherine looked genuinely sad, and we loved Mark’s choreography when the Josh Groban music started to swell and they sped up their pace.

William Levy & Cheryl Burke — Salsa. No, we’re not awarding William one of the best dance slots just because he pulled a Clark Kent and was every bit the Superman we hoped for. His moves reminded us of Season 13 champ J.R. Martinez, just before he hit his stride. Those hips!

Jaleel White & Kym Johnson — Rumba to "For The Cool In You” by Babyface. Kym is an amazing partner and has a way of making her partner look like the one in control. Which Jaleel definitely seemed to be, and we had to love his serious facial expression. Considering all the behind the scenes drama surrounding this couple, they really pulled it together.

The Bad

Gladys Knight & Tristan MacManus — Foxtrot to "Cupid” by Sam Cooke. Oh, we adore these two so much. Gladys is just a legend, pure and simple. And Tristan’s face is quickly meriting legendary status among viewers for being irresistible. But we’re not confident in Gladys’ ability to keep up week to week.

Gavin DeGraw & Karina Smirnoff — Rumba to “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel. Even though Gavin showed serious improvement over last week, he still comes off a bit clumsy when it comes to ballroom dancing.
