Us Weekly reports that the Family Matters actor got into a “heated” argument with partner Kym and pro Mark Ballas after a particularly bad rehearsal on Friday, March 30. According to a source, Jaleel “flipped out” after he accidentally stepped on Kym’s foot during practice and she screamed “ouch.”
The source says that Jaleel started to shout at the beloved DWTS pro, calling her names and driving her out of the rehearsal studio in tears. Fellow DWTS competitor Donald Driver allegedly overheard the argument and tried to calm Jaleel down, but the actor went off on producers and started screaming at the staff.
Eventually, Mark Ballas tried to step in to calm Jaleel down, and things almost got violent. Jaleel allegedly told Mark, “'You remind me of that annoying sitcom neighbor who gets into everyone's business,” an obvious reference to his Urkel character. Producers had to be called in “before things got violent.”
What does this mean for tonight’s performance? Jaleel was allegedly banned from the rehearsal space following his blow-up, and he reportedly demanded that he have a different rehearsal space following the argument.
If the allegations are true and everything was captured by the DWTS cameras, Jaleel is as good as gone. Kym and Mark are two of the show’s most beloved pros, and DWTS fans don’t take kindly to celebrities abusing their pros. Of course, if the argument was as real and raw as it sounds, Jaleel might have already packed up his dancing shoes and left the show.
So far, Kym and Jaleel haven’t shown any signs of trouble. The pair have had great chemistry on the dance floor and yesterday, Kym was playfully tweeting with her partner that they have “some tricks up their sleeves.” Mark and Jaleel have also shown no signs of tension behind the scenes, with Mark cheerily tweeting backstage photos from tonight’s show. Hopefully this is all just a belated April Fool’s Day prank?
We guess we’ll have to tune in tonight to find out what really happened.
Catch the next new episode of DWTS tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
