Top 5 OMG Moments From Gossip Girl Season 5, Episode 18, “Con-Heir”: Welcome Back, Nate
It just wouldn’t be Gossip Girl without a whole bunch of zingers throughout the episode — and Season 5, Episode 18, “Con Heir,” the first hour back after the mid-season hiatus, had OMGs aplenty! Schemin’ van der Woodsens! The incoming return of Diana Payne! A sketch-tastic Jack Bass! There were seriously too many to count, but here are our top five favorites:
Lola Officially Joins the van der Woodsen Clan? And we were so hoping that Lola Charlie Rhodes (Ella Rae Peck) would continue to hate on these folks (somebody needs to put ‘em in their place occasionally!). Instead, influenced by a plea from her maybe-sister-but-definite-cousin Serena (Blake Lively), Lola stepped up in an effort to help the fam take Ivy down. (P.S. And what about that adorbs scene between Lola and William? Somebody order a paternity test, stat!)
Dair Overcomes Their Love Obstacles — In an Elevator! Oh mannn. All the GIFs in the world couldn’t do this justice, eh? Dair was very nearly the relationship-that-never-was! BUT, this long-awaited (at least on Dan's part) love finally found its wings… Under the influence of alcohol… In an elevator. Oh, Dair. How will you ever top this?
Serena Takes the Gossip Girl Reins Without much contemplation, even! What seemed to us something that one might stew over for a minute, Serena instead took the reins of the online media maven who’s made her life a livin’ hell and started a-postin’! Although the whole mess blew up in her face (it’s hard out there for a GG, guys!), she was sure to take that laptop with her when leaving Spectator HQ. Just one problem: Gossip Girl wants her empire back.
Chuck Finds Out His Transfusion Came From a Mystery Donor So you find out that your skeevy uncle lied to you about a life-saving blood donation that he couldn’t give because he has… Hepatitis C. So whattt? You’re Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick). You got this. … Right? Chuck?
NATE FIRES SERENA! The firing of S was a shock, but what was MORE surprising was Nate’s feisty temper! Season 5 has been so low on the Nate front that when he unleashed his anger on S, our chins dropped in total awe. Dude’s got a backbone! And perhaps some editor chops after all! We underestimated you, Master Archibald. Welcome back to the fold!
