Grey’s Anatomy Review: Rate Season 8, Episode 18: “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”

Grey's Anatomy is finally back! This week’s episode, Season 8, Episode 18: “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” really satisfied our Grey’s withdrawal from the past several weeks. There were lions, grieving widows, cheating husbands, and a truly sad end to Intern Morgan’s baby struggles. Without further ado, onto our recaplet!

Seattle is rocked by a lion who is wander the streets of the city. It turns out that the lion escaped from its owners, a young woman and her boyfriend, who were keeping the deadly animal as a pet. Yikes! The lion turned on them and shredded the both of them to ribbons, resulting in them heading to Seattle Grace-Mercy West.

Meanwhile, Alex tried to escape Intern Morgan, who was dealing with the unhappy outcome for her preemie baby. Cristina was seeking refuge from Owen’s excuses for cheating by escaping the lab and being alone with her thoughts. Teddy was alienating herself from her widows’ support group by mocking the other widows during a group therapy session. Oh, and let’s not forget that Callie is more than a little pissed that Arizona received a more-than-just-friends hug from what turned out to be an ex-girlfriend.

The lion couple eventually survived, but ended up breaking up in the recovery room. Alex finally cut the cord with Intern Morgan, which gave her the strength to start making decisions for herself when it came to her baby. And Cristina finally blew up on Owen, through cereal-throwing.
