Dancing With The Stars

DWTS’ Sherri Shepherd on the Dance “Trick” That Sent Melissa Gilbert to the Hospital

Near the end of last night’s Dancing With the Stars Season 14, Week 4: Performance, Melissa Gilbert was rushed to the hospital with help from her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and fellow contestant Gavin DeGraw. She later tweeted that she suffered from minor whiplash and a concussion, but Sherri Shepherd was one of the first stars on the show to give details on Melissa’s condition.

It appeared that, during Maks and Melissa’s Paso Doble, the couple attempted a move that was very low to the ground, which had Melissa sliding across the floor in that fancy DWTS way, with Maks holding on to her arms.

Sherri told E! that, “Melissa was doing a trick at the end and she hit her head so she put an ice pack on there, but they wanted to make sure everything was OK and check her out.” Sherri continued, “It shows you people are so committed to doing this show and doing the dance that they're pushing through so many things."

To watch Melissa and Maks’ tricky dance move that didn’t quite work, see the video below:

Find out who is getting sent home on Dancing With the Stars tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
