So, how did she get those famous rock-hard abs back?
Janet has joined the growing list of divas turning to weight management programs to help keep them fit and trim. Thanks to NutriSystem, a meal-based program that uses low glycemic foods, she was able to shed all of the weight she gained after her brother Michael passed away in 2009. Janet showed off her sexy new physique in a new NutriSystem TV spot, which aired last night, Monday, April 9.
"It's been a difficult couple of years," she told Us Weekly after the Dr. Conrad Murray trial ended in 2011. "And then I've been very, very busy on top of that."
For Janet, showcasing her weight-loss success is not just about making headlines. The singer hopes to inspire others battling disordered eating, body image issues, and problems with self-esteem.
"[My weight] is something I've dealt with all my life, and it's been an issue for me," said Janet, who opened up about her struggle with binge eating in her book True You.
"People can relate to me because I have lived it. I truly understand what it's like to have a problem with weight loss, losing too much weight or gaining more than you desire to and becoming unhealthy."
Fellow diva Mariah Carey has enjoyed similar success with Jenny Craig, losing a total of 70 pounds after the birth of her twin babies, and Jennifer Hudson turned heads when she dropped 80 pounds using the Weight Watchers program.
We applaud the efforts of all three ladies, but which diva's transformation inspires you the most?
