Have Beckett and Esposito Ever Hooked up on Castle? Jon Huertas Believes They “Have a History” – Exclusive!

Castle has plenty of romance potential that’s currently not being used to its maximum capacity — Caskett and Esplanie, not to mention Kevin and Jenny (Jevin? Kenny?) who have all but disappeared after their lavish wedding.

But until now, has anyone given any thought to Becksposito?

Esposito and Beckett, in my mind, in my back story, have a history,” Jon Huertas tells Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively. “It might be physical. I don't know. But my back story, I keep it deep in here.”

The actor may be joking, but he’s clearly given this scenario some thought.

“I think I’ve maybe pitched [creator Andrew Marlowe] Beckett and Esposito at the police academy,” he muses. “I don’t think it’s a crush, but there's history. I think it could raise the stakes if they ended up doing something together, but I think Esposito's concerned about Lanie. And he really likes Lanie a lot.”

Which begs the questions, what is taking these two lovebirds so long?

“Beckett and Castle are in the way,” reasons Jon. “Castle and Beckett are the focus. They’re going to get together. So, I think for us to spend too much time on Lanie and Esposito… you've got to figure out how we're going to get together.”

And he suspects there might be another, more sizzling reason for the delay.

“I think we're just too hot for TV,” he jokes. “If we are together on screen, your screen would melt. Have you seen Tamala Jones? It would be an HBO show.”
