Pretty Little Liars Season 3: Will Ezria Survive the Potential Problems of Going Public?

As soon as the hashtag #ezriagoespublic was flashed across TV screens during the Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Finale, the world according to Ezra (Ian Harding) and Aria (Lucy Hale) officially changed forever. So how will the soulmates’ decision to go public work in the real world?

Here are a few situations the couple will have to face, like it or not, now that all of Rosewood knows their secret.

Ezra’s career. How can Ezra, aka Professor Fitz, recover from this blemish on his record? He had already been fired from Hollis after Byron put pressure on the Dean to push him out, but that doesn’t mean that everyone will be OK with his relationship. Will he ever get hired to teach again, now that people know he’s dating an underaged former student? Sure he can offer private lessons, but that probably won’t be enough to support him for long. And how many parents will pay for private lessons for their kids from a man who is dating a young woman?

Ezra’s family. We already know how the Montgomerys feel about Ezria, but how will the Fitz family react to their son, who is supposed to be in his late 20s, being in love with a 16-year-old student? It is arguably much harder for a parent when their teenaged daughter is seeing an older man than it is when their adult son dates a teenager, but maybe not that much. We know nothing about Ezra’s family so far, except that we will soon meet his brother on Season 3. Will he approve?

Aria’s reputation. The Little Liars are stronger than most high school girls, yes. But no one is strong enough to combat all the glares, whispers, rampant untrue rumors, judgment, and jealousy that is bound to bombard Aria after everyone at Rosewood High finds out the news. Sure, Aria can get the heck out of Rosewood after high school and never look back, but her senior year might be tough.

We will always root for Ezria, no matter how rough the going gets. But we hope they thought things through before they made that daring masquerade move!

Catch an all-new Pretty Little Liars when Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
