Bethenny Frankel on Her Assistant Julie Plake’s Decision to Move Back Home: “It Was the Best Decision for Everyone”

Many loyal Bethenny Ever After viewers were surprised when Bethenny Frankel’s assistant, Julie Plake, announced during the April 9 episode that she would be leaving the Skinnygirl team to move back to Pittsburgh, and even though Bethenny took the news hard, she knew it was best for everyone involved.

In her latest blog on, Bethenny writes, “Julie made a decision. Whether that is what you or I would do is irrelevant. She was stuck. She was tormented and something needed to happen for something to happen.”

“To be honest, it was better for everyone,” she continues.

While we saw Bethenny get emotional during the episode, she now seems at peace with Julie’s departure.

“I love Julie, and she is forever in my heart and connected to my family, but I do believe that it was the best decision for everyone. She is happy, the office is running smoothly and quietly, and everyone has found their place.”

Bethenny has taken some heat for being so cavalier in her blog about Julie’s decision to leave, but we know that the loss of her longtime assistant must have been very difficult for her. Hang in there, B!
