Who Will Be Eliminated on Tonight’s Episode of The Voice, April 16?

Last week’s eliminations from Team Adam and Team Cee Lo were surprisingly fair given the judges’ history (more Cee Lo than Adam on this point), but this week The Voice is back with the ever-present bias of Blake Shelton and the overly confident Christina Aguilera.

We just learned that one contestant from each team will be eliminated tonight immediately following their live performances. So, who will be going home?

Once again, predictions are hard because there’s the challenge of who should go home versus who will go home.

On Team Blake, there’s Erin Willett, Jermaine Paul, Jordis Unga, and RaeLynn, and on Team Christina there’s Ashley De La Rosa, Chris Mann, Jesse Campbell, and Lindsey Pavao.

Team Blake’s strongest contestants vocally are Erin and Jermaine, but Blake holds a soft spot in his heart from RaeLynn’s twang and Jordis’s tears.

Unless Jordis pulls out a show-stopper, she’ll be the one headed home after tonight’s performance.

Eliminating Erin or Jermaine would cause a public outcry, and eliminating RaeLynn would force Blake to sleep on the couch because Miranda Lambert simply would not stand for it.

RaeLynn does have a stand-out sound, but her lack of vocal control makes her a weaker contestant than Jordis. That being said, she speaks to a larger audience than Jordis, whose “rocker” spot was stolen and owned by Team Cee Lo’s Juliet Simms last week.

Vocally speaking, RaeLynn probably deserves to go home, but eliminating Jordis would make the most sense from the judges' chair.

Team Christina is a bit tougher. Each of the remaining contestants is dynamic and speaks to a very different audience, so it really comes down to a matter of taste.

Chris Mann speaks to the choir teachers of America and Clay Aiken fans, Ashley De La Rosa hits the younger demographic, and Lindsey Pavao reaches those into Twilight and Kristen Stewart look-alikes.

Though Jesse Campbell was titled the “dude to beat,” we have a problem with him receiving so much attention on this show. You’ve seen this contestant before. The soulful sound with the touching back story does not make for a stand-out artist.

No one denies that Jesse has some killer pipes, but so does Javier Colon. Not sure who that is? He was The Voice’s Season 1 winner. He released an album after winning the show that peaked at 134 on the U.S. charts and is now virtually out of any musical spotlight.

If the judges want to do The Voice a favor, they’d eliminate Jesse immediately. We said it.

Ashley and Lindsey have the best chance of becoming their own performers with strong followings post-show. Ashley’s sound is incredibly dynamic and transitions from rock to R&B effortlessly.

Unfortunately, she will probably be going home tonight. To add insult to injury, today is Ashley’s birthday.

Christina and America, please come to your senses and understand that Jesse Campbell could win this show, but he probably won't become that big music superstar The Voice is hoping for.

Who do you think will be eliminated tonight? Have you agreed with the judges decisions thus far? Comment below!
