While it seems like many of the graduates will still be getting plenty of screen time after their departure, there are other high school students whose scholarly futures at McKinley hang in the balance.
While Damian is realistic about his fate on the show, he reveals that whatever happens, he tells us that unfortunate visa situation from back in Season 3, Episode 13: “Heart,” doesn’t have to mean the end of Rory Flanagan.
“It may not be,” he teases. “I've had a chat with the writers, but I'll let the audience figure that one out. It may get figured out. We'll have to wait and see.”
Damian remembers getting the script where he tells his fellow classmates that he’s going “Home,” to the tune of Michael Buble.
“It was funny because we only got half of the script first, so I was looking at it thinking, ’Wow. All right. It looks like I'm going home. Farewell. I've had a great time. Thanks for having me,’” he tells us. “But I'm still in the episodes. I had a brief discussion to get my head in the right place and to know what I'm acting for.”
One thing you can rule out is a wedding between Sugar and Rory. “I brought that idea to the writers, and I said, ‘How about we get Rory married to stay in America?’ They were like, ‘Ah, I don't think so,’” he laughs. “It's just kind of unrealistic, getting a 15-year-old married.” (Yes, marriage on Glee is clearly much more acceptable when you’re 17.)
