Who’s Worth More: Diddy or Jay-Z? New Forbes List of Wealthiest Rappers Tells All
If the message in his song "Mo Money Mo Problems" is true, then rapper/actor Diddy has a ridiculous amount of problems. In Forbes's newest list of the wealthiest hip-hop stars, the number one slot goes to Diddy himself, who is estimated to be worth a whopping $550 million. (In other words, he has about as many dollars as he's had name changes.) His wealth has expanded recently due to his hefty deal with Ciroc vodka, along with his Sean John clothing line.
In the number two spot is Jay-Z, who's worth a none-too-shabby $460 million. Unlike Diddy, he's still making big money from his music, including his recent tour with Kanye West. He also brings in income from his stake in the New Jersey Nets basketball team and his 40/40 clubs. Jay-Z may have 99 problems, but paying for a babysitter ain't one.
Rounding out the top 5 are Dr. Dre ($270 million), Birdman ($125 million), and 50 Cent ($110 million). So when 50 Cent says he's going to "party like it's your birthday," he can probably give you a whole lot of tokens at Chuck E. Cheese.
