Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Joseph Morgan and Candice Accola Tease What Happens When Tyler Returns

We’re no strangers to love triangles on The Vampire Diaries, and it looks like with Tyler Lockwood’s (Michael Trevino) homecoming in tonight’s episode, the Klaroline romance (if you can even call it that) could soon become a threeway!

Before you get your hopes up (or just overly terrified for Caroline’s safety), we don’t mean literally. But according to Joseph Morgan (Klaus) and Candice Accola’s (Caroline) new interviews with TV Line, Tyler’s grand return will definitely shake things up for the three supernaturals.

Candice says fans of Forwood “are going to be very excited” by the ex-lover’s reunion. The brassy blonde cheerleader is “elated” her old flame is back, although they won’t immediately fall back into a relationship.

But the reunion may not be so great for Tyler. Mr. Lockwood — having been MIA for quite awhile — isn’t “privy” to Klaus’ feelings for Caroline, says Candice. And although the cheeky actress says it won’t take long for Tyler to sniff out that something’s up between K and C, she reveals that eventually the three characters will convene in the same room, where secrets will come out and the drama will “come to a head.”

Despite Caroline’s feelings for Tyler, Joseph Morgan insists that Klaus doesn’t see Tyler as a threat to his winning the blonde vamp over. As he points out, Klaus could easily compel the hybrid to skedaddle. Oh, the perks of the sire bond! (Unless, of course, Tyler’s conjured up a way to destroy it. Another story for another day!)

Luckily, the one person Morgan insists Klaus won’t compel is the Caroline. Guess the guy still has some morals left!
