Grey’s Anatomy Review: What Did You Think of Season 8, Episode 21: “Moment of Truth”?

Tonight’s episode of Grey's Anatomy (Season 8, Episode 21: “Moment of Truth”) felt unusual from the beginning. Instead of seeing our favorite docs in their scrubs, we saw them in casual clothes, getting ready to board a bus. As each mentor gave each protégé(e) some last words of encouragement, we realized just how much we care about this crew and want the best for them.

Unfortunately, they weren’t at their best. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) got the stomach flu from Zola, Alex (Justin Chambers) left San Francisco, where the boards were, to try and save Morgan’s doomed baby, and April (Sarah Drew) was getting into a barfight. We have to say, we have all new respect for her after seeing her throw that punch at the sexist, jealous sore loser.

We were moved by the “twisted sisters,” Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Mer, sitting on opposite sides of their adjoining room door, not judging each other. And by Lexie (Chyler Leigh) and Mark’s (Eric Dane) flirty, touchy-feely reunion of sorts. And is Catherine Avery the best flirt of all time or what? Should Jackson have stayed in the bed with Lexie? Did Alex ever make it to the exam?

Catch a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, May 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
