American Idol

Should Elise Testone Have Been Eliminated From American Idol 2012 on April 26, 2012?

It’s hard to believe we’re already down to the Top 5!

After mixed reviews on her performances during Queen week last night, Elise Testone was eliminated from American Idol. Her version of “I Want It All” was well liked by the judges, but she was criticized for picking Jimi Hendrix’s “Bold As Love” for her personal song. Judge Steven Tyler told Elise she needed to choose a tune more people would know, while mentor Jimmy Iovine thought the song was pointless without Hendrix’s signature guitar playing.

We’ve always appreciated the soul and maturity of Elise’s voice, and she’s had great moments singing songs like Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” and Alicia Keys’ “No One.” But voters never really seemed to connect with her and consistently placed her in the Bottom 3. Surprisingly, it never appeared to faze Elise and she tried to step up her game each week.

Do you think it was Elise’s time to go?
